The suit is basically a mesh of Kevlar and substrate steel that not only resists penetration, but also spreads the force of any blow received out from its focal point, reducing the amount of energy that pushes straight into the wearer. This Dartech class 1 armor is a super-lightweight suit designed to protect the wearer from impact damage. While this is by no means intended to be a comprehensive listing (there's a lot of stuff in this game), it should give you a pretty good idea of what to expect from the final product. We're going to start today with the armor and weapons, and we'll give you the rest of the info over the next couple of weeks. We also plan to include a little info on a couple of enemies that will show up in the game.
We've divided the list up into Armor, Items, OS Upgrades, Psi-Powers, and Weapons. Now that there's only a couple of weeks left before System Shock 2's August 11th release, we finally managed to squeeze some details out of the folks over at Looking Glass and Irrational Games about the items, armor and weaponry that you'll have access to in the game.
